I'm a regular citizen -- not a career politician -- who is running simply because I think I can make a difference for the better for our district and our state. My grandfather, Arthur D. Healey, was a congressman who served the Somerville Cambridge area during the 30's. He was a populist who believed in progressive policies that helped everyone, and co-author of the Walsh-Healey Act, New Deal legislation which protected workers at government contractors by establishing overtime rules, minimum wages, safety and sanitary standards, and protections for child laborers and convict laborers. Inspired by him as well as my own beliefs about how to improve our community, I am running for this seat and hope to be your next State Representative.
